Futuristic Arcadian Landscape

The Arcadian
Path

People of Earth Unite!

We have the best planet.

Let us unite behind a common dream for our future. Dreams are powerful. Let's dream big. Let the people of the world unite in making our planet a better place for all. Let us dream together of a world united by common goals for our future.

The history of human atrocities – war, invasion, conquest, genocide, slavery, racism, and sexism – is disturbing.

Political, business, and religious leaders rule our world and fight over interests that are unimportant to the common people, causing widespread devastation and economic hardship.

We need a better future for mankind, a clear vision of the future society we want – from whatever form of government, religion, or economic system.

What are the Goals of our world society? Shouldn't they be talked about directly by our leaders? Even politicians with good intentions express no clear dream of the future. They offer only vague ideas of improving things for people somehow, someday. We need a clear vision of the future we want. Without clear goals, societies will continued to be manipulated by powerful influential people with selfish motives.

We have the best planet. Everyone should be able to live a life that they feel good about if they work for it. Let the people of Earth unite behind the vision of a peaceful world where everyone can appreciate the beauty of existence and live a happy, meaningful life.

A revolution in human civilization is coming.

The United Worlds History Series

The United Worlds History series is not set in an ugly dystopian future, nor an unrealistic utopia, but in a universe where everyone (almost) can find their own way to a happy fulfilling life if they work for it. It is a universe that promotes scientific reality and the true nature of our human character to create worlds where every human of every religion, race, culture, and political system is able to live their own unique version of a fulfilling, happy life.

The Arcadian Path

The age of Enlightened Expansion (EE) began in the year 2070 CE. RingTech portal technology had opened the universe to human occupation and the Arcadian Path had united most of humanity in a common dream for the future. RingTech portals made transportation across city, planet, and galaxy only a button click away, imagine how people would corrupt such technology. You could peek into a neighbor's bedroom, empty a bank vault, or open a portal and dump raw sewage directly into the President's office. Could it be controlled?

The Arcadian Path novel contains both "The Arcadian Path" and "Beryl Awakening," the first two stories in the United Worlds History series.

The Arcadian Path

NASA's New Frontier Missions in 2070 CE were the first to take humans outside of Earth's solar system.

Another Path

The United Worlds History series continues with a story of corruption and deceit during the Age of Enlightened Expansion. Planet Bhudevi is the seventh planet terraformed using RingTech terraform portals and the only planet terraformed entirely by private business.

Silverado was a country on planet Bhudevi where freedom came first, the Maverick spirit shaped the law, and the president was the man with the most money and charisma. Our story begins in Silverado, a country promising Armageddon and a place in heaven for all true believers. Unhappiness was a crime there and the people were proven happy every year, whether they liked it or not. Women in Silverado had to prove they were harmed before prosecuting for rape and private disputes were often settled by gunfight. This was a place where money (if you had enough) could buy anything and lawyers (if you could pay for them) could fix everything — and if that didn't work, citizens were free to bully, intimidate, threaten, and even violate others to get what they wanted. Silverado had freedom, real freedom.

Origin of the United Worlds History Series

I was struggling to write a different novel in the early morning hours of March 17, 2014. In tired sleepy frustration, I laid my head on the desk. Knocking on my front door dragged me out of a deep, heavy sleep.

"Hello," I said, opening my front door a crack. The young woman standing on my porch wore a strange earth-tone jumpsuit with a silver belt and flowing cape. "Can I help you?" I asked sleepily.

"I have something you need," she replied, extending her hand to give me something.

"Who are you?" I asked, feeling grumpy and suspicious. "What do you have for me?"

"I'm from the year 544 EE," she replied with a pleasant smile. She paused, obviously expecting me to know what she was talking about.

Author Statement

I love science fiction for the interesting and curious ideas and images it provides of the possible futures of mankind. I wish to present stories of a beautiful future of humanity because I believe it is possible, I want to see it happen, and it should be humanities goal. I don't want a dystopian future for our planet Earth. We need a vision of a world society that is better than today. If we want a better human society, than we need better images of what a good world civilization could be.

I am a baby boomer, hippy dropout, war protester, army medic, free thinking humanist, physicist, geologist, skeptic, father, grandfather, and husband. I'm an optimistic dreamer, and a hopeful observer. I love to hike in the mountains, swim in the ocean, dance in the moonlight, and make love with my wife, Elvira.

The Arcadian
Philosophy

Arcadia is an imaginary place associated with perfect pastoral beauty and harmony, where everyone can have a comfortable life, the land of plenty, the place we would all like to live.

The Arcadian Path philosophy provides a vision of a society that supports the individual, a society where every person can, through their own hard work, live a happy fulfilling life. It offers a better way to treat ourselves and each other. It is a dream about world peace and human enlightenment, a dream about how human society should be.

Regardless of politics, religion, and business interests, humanity needs a clear vision of the future. Let's not argue over who we are and where we have been. Let us focus on the future with a common dream of a better world civilization.

The three foundations of the Arcadian Path are, 1, the Goals of Civilization as a vision of a perfect society; 2, the Principle of Humanity to give a clear direction to an individual's life; and 3, Scientific Spirituality to guide us in our purpose.
